Understanding Kidney Cancer booklet was awarded a 4 star rating and a high ‘readability’ score by the prestigious Directory of Information Materials for People Affected by Cancer 2010/11 published by Macmillan Cancer Support. The Directory reviews 1,111 booklets and leaflets about cancer and its treatment.

This booklet provides an overview of the guidance issued by NICE to the NHS in England and Wales. The booklet, published in 2015, is divided into three sections.
This guideline covers identifying children, young people and adults with symptoms that could be caused by cancer. It outlines appropriate investigations in primary care, and selection of people to refer for a specialist opinion. It aims to help people understand what to expect if they have symptoms that may suggest cancer.
